Willow Basketry

Baskets are such wonderful objects. They can be found in all culture around the world and have been used for so many purposes, from collecting water to housing our most precious objects. Willow and many other “withy” baskets are such exciting things to build for your own uses as well as being wonderful as gifts. For those that desire, it is also possible to weave your good intensions into the basket as well!

During this two day class you will build your own beautiful willow basket and learn the various weaving techniques to construct the base, walls, rims and handles of your creations. Material selection, gathering, propagation will be covered as well as using other plants other than willow from our local woodlands and hedgerows.

This class will be lead by Instructor Daniel Carpenter.

This is a self-catered class, tea and coffee provided.

Camping available, free of charge and for those who prefer a little more comfort there are a variety of local B&Bs.

Class run from 10am-5pm each day.
